COVID-19 Update: Nigeria’s Tally Moves Up 38 New Cases, Now 665 Nationwide

As at 11:10pm on Monday, April 20, 2020, latest figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) showed that the country now has a total of Six Hundred and Sixty-five (665) confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The numbers on the NCDC’s website also indicated that thirty-eight (38) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded same day across eight (8) states of the Federation.

A breakdown of the 38 fresh cases indicated that for the first time, Lagos did not record any confirmed case as Kano State took the lead with twenty-three (23) cases.

Others on the list are: Gombe – five (5); Kaduna – three (3); Abia  and Borno – two (2) each while Sokoto, Ekiti and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) all recorded one (1) case each.

On the cases successfully treated and discharged, the NCDC puts the figure at 188 patients while noting that twenty two (22) deaths have now been officially recorded in Nigeria
