COVID-19 Update: Nigeria’s Tally Now 627, Records 86 Cases In One Day

In an upsurge of confirmed figures since the first index case was identified in March, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said as at 11.50pm on Saturday, April 19, 2020, the country recorded the single highest number of 86 new cases of COVID-19 in one day.

The figure has now shot Nigeria’s tally to 627 confirmed cases with 170 patients having been successfully treated and discharged.

The number of deaths so far recorded across the country has also moved twenty one (21).

According to the NCDC, a breakdown of the 86 new cases reported indicated that they are from seven states and Lagos still leads the pack with (70).

Others are FCT (7); Akwa Ibom (3), Katsina (3), Borno (1), Bauchi (1) and Jigawa (1)
