CSO Frowns At Planned Postings Of Federal Permanent Secretaries Ahead Of May 29.
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – A Civil Society Organisation on the aegis of ‘Nigerian Watch Front Group’ has expressed concern over the purported plan by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to redeploy Permanent Secretaries ahead of the May 29, handover date to a new administration in the country.
The group said that it considered the planned reshuffling as an attempt to divert and shield corrupt practices in federal Ministries, Department and Agencies of Government.
These were contained in a statement on Thursday, in Bauchi by Abubakar Gazali Yaro, National Coordinator, in which he also noted that the idea behind sudden redeployment of some hard working Permanent Secretaries by the Head of Service is aimed at replacing them with her core loyalists ahead of the swearing in ceremony of the new government
Yaro therefore urged the Head of Federal Civil Service to halt the plan to reshuffle Permanent Secretaries not in her pay grade at this late hour of transition.
Yaro said; “There is no sense whatsoever in attention of Nigerian Watch Front Group has been drawn to a purported plan by the Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Folasade Yemi-Esan to redeploy and
“While we frown at such motive in totality, it is important to bring to the fore of the general public, that the bane behind Head of Service’s plan is to redeploy some hard working Permanent Secretaries and replace them with her core loyalists ahead of the swearing in ceremony of the new government.”
“In recent times, we were aware that, she promoted some of her favourite directors to the position of Permanent Secretaries despite the fact that they failed to pass the examination and requirements but, she found her way to misled President Muhammadu Buhari to administer oath of office on them.
“As civil society organization whose main aims are geared towards advocating for better service delivery to the general population of Nigeria, we are constraint to demand that the Head of Service of the federation should drop and bury such self-motivated thought and stop frustrating the transition process through her unpatriotic moves.
“We hope that you will resist any attempts to frustrate this transition period,” Yaro said.
