Lagos State has overtaken Kano state in the number of completed registrations in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released fresh statistics on the exercise.
According to the infographics released on Tuesday by the nation’s electoral umpire, as of 7 am on July 25, 2022, Lagos had taken the lead in the number of completed registrations with 508,936; as Kano and Delta placed second and third with 500,207, and 481,929 registrants respectively.
INEC’s infographics further indicated that over 11 million new applicants have completed their voter registration since the CVR began in June last year.
As of last week, the figures had shown Kano State in the lead with 458,559 fresh registrants, while Lagos placed second with 451,156.
