Defection Saga: Ayade Sacks 4 Commissioners, 5 Others

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State still battling with his defection baggage on Monday announced the sack of four commissioners and five other aides perceived not to have shown commitment to moving to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with him.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, dated May 31, 2021, said that the governor has approved the relieve of the following persons of their appointments as commissioners.

The list include, Mr. Mike Usibe, Rita Ayim, Mr. Asu Okang and Ntufam Donatus Etim, who were members of the State Executive Council.

Similarly, the statement also said that the under listed persons have also been relieved of theirappointments. They are Mr. Leo Inyambe, Hon. Orok Out Duke, Mr. Victor Okon (Alausa), Mr. John Etim Bassey and Hon. Agbiji Mbeh Agbiji

The sacked appointees were directed to return all government property and vehicles in their care with immediate effect to the Chief of Staff to the governor.

Governor Ayade thanked them for their services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
