BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and millions of Nigerians to commemorate the 2026 Democracy Day and 27 years of unbroken democratic governance.
A goodwill message issued by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, on behalf of the Governing Board, Management, and Staff of the Commission, the NCDC said Democracy Day offers an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s democratic journey and also honour the leaders who secured and sustained Nigeria’s democracy.

Dr. Tsenyil said President Tinubu and many notable Nigerians played a significant role in the struggle for the restoration and entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria and still continue to demonstrate commitment to democratic ideals through his leadership and governance.

He said the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and strengthen efforts towards national development and the Commission remains fully commitment to supporting the administration’s vision for sustainable growth and inclusive national development, particularly within the North Central geo-political zone.

The NCDC Chief Executive stated that the Commission is staying focused on delivering interventions that will improve infrastructure, stimulate economic activities, enhance human capital development, and deepen the dividends of democracy for the people of the region.

Congratulating Nigerians on this specific milestone, Dr. Tsenyil tasked Nigerians to fiercely protect democratic institutions and unite for national progress, even as he also prayed for God’s continuous wisdom and strength to guide the President in steering the country toward greater prosperity.
