Democracy Day: Nigeria Needs Emergence Of Detribilised Leaders – NCPC Boss
BY BECKY OLAJIDE, ABUJA – The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has stressed the need for the emergence of heroes of a new Nigerians, who must be detribalised and build on national cohesion, peace and economic prosperity.
This was as he said that Democracy Day reminds Nigerians of the heroes, who made differing sacrifices to enthrone democratic governance.
Rev. Pam, who stated these in a statement by the Head of Media and Public Relations of the NCPC, Mr. Celestine Toruka, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians on Democracy Day.
The NCPC Executive Secretary also expressed happiness over how Nigerians have shown commitment on sustenance of Democratic rule, which he noted remains the best since it would always present period of review of performance through periodic election and termination of tenure when due.
Pam therefore admonished politicians to play the game with fear of God, bearing in mind that Nigerians have no other country.
While urging INEC to effectively play its role as an unbiased umpire, Rev. Pam equally advised the youths to take path in the political and electioneering process so as to have a voice and vote their conscience.
