A major leadership crisis is brewing in the main opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), leading to the resignation of some of its national officers.

Already, seven national officers of the party have tendered their resignation over issues of lack of confidence in the running of the affairs of the party by the National Working Committee led by Prince Uche Secondus.

The list of those that tendered their resignation on Tuesday include; the Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Auditor, Deputy Woman Leader, Deputy National Publicity Secretary and the Deputy National Legal Adviser.

Others include, the Deputy National Organising Secretary, and one other that is yet to be confirmed.

The affected officers accused the National Working Committee of not helping the party, stressing that the matter is made worse by the Governors on the platform of the party that have remained aloof to the lack of purposeful leadership in the National Working Committee.

Efforts made to reach the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan for his reaction and possible comments did not yield results as he is locked up in a crucial meeting. He however, promised to call back.
