BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The no love lost relationship between controversial Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator, Dino Melaye and the Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello again took the centre stage on social media Tuesday over the Governor’s public hugging of a Royal father.
In his usual combative style, Senator Melaye went for Governor Bello’s jugular, blasting him for disrespecting the traditional institution.
He described the act as embarrassingly contemptuous and clearly lacking in reverence for the customs and tradition of the people.
The lawmaker, representing Kogi West Senatorial district in the National Assembly, was on his Instagram page to condemn Governor Bello’s action
Accusing the governor of being discourteous, Dino said, “Very disrespectful and rude Governor Yahaya Bello, hugging his paramount traditional ruler, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim who is over 90 years.”
According to him, “Can Gov Tambuwal hug the Sultan? Or will Gov el-Rufai hug the Emir of Zaria? If this disobedient child will not respect the seat of Ohinoyi, he should respect the age of HRM.”
Not ready to back down on his obvious contempt for his former political ally’s action, Senator Melaye posted; “Home training is not a gift,”
