The Executive Director, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr Ken Onyewuchi Opara has been elected President and Chairman in Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
In a seamless election on Saturday at its 2022 AGM, held at the Bankers House, Victoria Island, Lagos, Dr Opara got the overall mandate of the professional body along other officers of the Institute to pilot Its affairs in the coming years.
In his acceptance remarks, Opara commended the founding fathers of the institute just as he promised to uphold the tenets of the professional body.
Opara also commended the immediate past executive for a job well done, assuring to raise the bar.
The Chartered institute of Bankers of Nigeria is the umbrella professional body for Banker authorised to control entry into the profession, set standards and maintain professional ethics among its members.
The newly elected executive will be inaugurated in May, 2022.
