DSS Interrogates, Releases Sowore
The Department of State Services (DSS), on Sunday, September 15, 2024 interrogated and released the presidential candidate of African Action Alliance (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.
However, checks within the Service, indicated that there was no intention to arrest Sowore but, to only get him to clear certain issues of concerns.
It was gathered Sowore, who is also the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement and founder of Sahara Reporters, was invited by the Secret police at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, during which he was questioned for about an hour and allowed to go.
Sowore, had on Saturday, raised an alarm over a plot by security agencies to arrest and frame him up.
In the words of Sowore; “Yeah! All around in my home town, they are trying to track me down, yeah! They say they want to bring me in guilty.
“However Babylon must fall! #FearlessInOctober,” he said.
Sowore’s release was confirmed by his activist colleague and friend, Deji Adeyanju, who told journalists that one of the conveners of the #ENDBADGovernance has been released.
A source close to the DSS told Forefront News on condition of anonymity that, it must be understood that no one is above the laws of the country, adding that if the Service had the intention of arresting Sowore, it would carry it out as part of its assigned responsibility.
