Easter: FRSC Deploys 950 Personnel, Volunteers For Special Operations In Bauchi
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – The Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi Sector Command has announced the deployment 750 officers and men as well as 200 Volunteers for the 2023 Easter Special Operations.
The 24hours round the clock operations which commenced on Thursday, April 6 will last till Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
The FRSC Bauchi Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, who announce this, said that as part of the equipment and logistics, 20 operational vehicles, 10 Ambulances, 15 Recovery Vans, three heavy duty recovery vehicles, 12 light recovery vehicles, two Extricating machines, two breathelyzer, alcoholizer machines and 200 Manual as well as three roadside clinics, two help areas have been deployed and activated for the operation.
He said that part of the activities for the special operations also include aggressive public enlightenment in churches and mosques especially during the Ramadan Tasfir programmes.
Abdullahi also said that there will be collaboration with sister security agencies, road transport union, the media, FERMA, Federal and State Ministries of Works and Housing, health service providers, government and private hospitals and clinics, clergymen, traders and construction companies.
The Sector Commander further said that the major focus of the operation include – road traffic crash reduction, free flow of traffic, clearing of obstructions, prompt response to road traffic accidents, adequate and effective information management, effective intelligent gathering and data collection and analysis.
Abdullahi warned that there will be strict enforcement and routine patrol while there will be rescue standby as well daily traffic control during which offenders will be arraigned through mobile Courts.
He also said that there will be flag off of RTC prone locations on the five major routes across the state while efforts are on the pipeline to ensure a hitch free 2023 Easter celebrations.
