…Mohammed says his prosecution is politically motivated

The Governor-elect of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi), on Monday honoured an invitation of the FCT High Court 26 following a case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is as Senator Mohammed said that his prosecution is borne out of political witch hunt and has nothing to do allegations being leveled against him by the EFCC.

It was gathered that the case which the EFCC started in 2016 was later abandoned in 2017 but reawakened following Senator Mohammed’s victory at the Governorship election.

However, the Court could not seat to hear the case as the trial Judge is presently occupied with Election Petitions Tribunal cases.

Senator Mohammed with the massive support of the people of Bauchi State has vowed to probe the out-going Governor Mohammed Abubakar over the funds that accrued to the state with nothing tangible to show for it.

Mohammed is particularly pissed with the fact that Governor Abubakar’s alleged involvement with the dicey issue of ghost workers running into billions of Naira.

Senator Mohammed on leaving the FCT High Court, left for the Presidential Villa, venue of the induction course for Governor-elect and those returning.

The Bauchi State governor-elect said the mandate of the people of Bauchi cannot be stolen through crude blackmail, intimidation and harassment by the EFCC which he said are after him for political reasons.
