EFCC Nabs 14 Alleged Internet Fraudsters In Makurdi

BY BLESSING NKEREUWEM – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 14 suspects allegedly involved in internet fraud in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

The anti-graft agency Makurdi Zonal Office made the arrests during a targeted operation at the Federal Lowcost Housing Estate in Makurdi.

A statement issued by EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale said the operation was conducted following reliable intelligence suggesting the individuals were engaged in cybercrime.

Oyewale said the suspects were identified as Austine Okwori, Osita Idoko Valentine, Skott King David, Thomas Ifebuche, Akor Kelvin Oche, Henry Adah, and Samuel Moses Ogbonna Ckukwuaogwu.

Others are Scott Emmanuel Inalegwu, Ogbu Stephen Alpha, Mustapha Nasir Adinoye, Sylvanus Samuel Ogbu, Emmanuel Adamu, and Samuel Otene.

According to the EFCC Spokesman, items seized during the operation included mobile devices, laptops, undisclosed sums of money and various charms.

Oyewale further disclosed that all the suspects would be formally charged in court at the completion of investigation by the Commission
