Ekiti State House Of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Aribisogan, Impeached

The supremacy power tussle between Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has set the State House of Assembly on political war path.

The development has climaxed producing one of the first casualty in the person of the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan, who was impeached and suspended by 17 out of the 25 members of the House on Monday barely a week after his election.

In his place, Hon Olubunmi Adelugba was elected as the new Speaker of the Assembly.

Aribisogan was elected Speaker last week to replace the late former Speaker, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, who allegedly died last month from heart attack.

Aribisogan was impeached on Monday (November 21, 2022 by members of the House under heavy security.
