A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and a former member of the Senate, Senator Roland Owie, has tasked the leadership of the Party (PDP), to as a matter of urgent importance invoke disciplinary measures against the Governor Nyesom Wike-led governors, who he described as ‘unruly’.

He particularly urged the national leadership of the PDP not to treat them with kid gloves but should take appropriate disciplinary measures against the unruly five PDP governors and members of their cliques, stressing that they cannot be bigger than the Party, saying that ‘pride comes before a fall’.

This was as Senator Owie specifically called on the Lagos State chapter of the PDP to immediately take disciplinary measures against Bode George for his anti-party activities which are clear for all to see.

George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP hosted the G-5 governors and other aggrieved members of the party in Lagos on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

The five aggrieved governors on the platform of the PDP that changed from G-5 to Integrity Group include Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), who are insisting on the resignation of the National Chairman of the Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

Owie, who represented Edo South in the Senate between 1999 and 2007 said in a statement he personally signed, declared that; “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH FOR THE 5 GOVERNORS AND BODE GEORGE”.

He said it was sad that Bode George, who enjoyed PDP victories in other states but never won any election for the Party in Lagos State since 1999 and a supposed elder of the party, is now aiding and abetting indiscipline in the PDP.

In the words of Owie; “I urge the PDP in Lagos State to take disciplinary measures against Bode George immediately.

“PDP leadership should remember that Governor Wike and Governor Fayose encouraged my friend, Distinguished Senator Ali Modu Sherrif to come into the PDP, an action that led PDP into a coma.

“Thereafter they brought Uche Secondus and when the eyes of Secondus were opened by the Holy Spirit, he distanced himself from them.

“Today Governor Fayose can’t win a House of Assembly seat in Ekiti. The word of God says, ‘pride comes before a fall. Enough is enough because only God gives power,” Owie declared.
