Explosion Rocks Sabon Gari Area In Kano, Many Feared Dead

An explosion rocked the Sabon Gari area of Kano State early on Tuesday morning with many persons feared dead

Eyewitness accounts said the explosion, which hit Aba road in Sabon Gari, also left many people injured.

However, the Kano Police Command Spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa did not immediately respond to inquiries when contacted on the incident.

Though details of the blast and its cause are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, social media videos from the scene indicate the explosion affected several buildings while many people, including school children, were also injured in the unfortunate incident

The visuals also showed a crowd gathering right after the blast with some of the people assisting the injured while others were heard loudly lamenting the loss of lives and damage done to people’s property and livelihoods.

It is not yet clear if one of the buildings housed a school, but the visuals showed several schoolchildren being moved away from the scene with an indication that one of them was injured.
