Fatal Auto Crash Claims Five Lives Along Zaria-Kano Expressway
About five lives were lost in a fatal auto accident in Tashan Danzago area, located a few kilometers from Zaria, along the busy Zaria-Kano Expressway on Thursday, May 05, 2022.
Reports indicate that the crash involved two vehicles, a Navy Blue Volkswagen Golf, with plate number Kano, GWL-493AE, and another Volkswagen Model, with plate number Lagos JJJ-125XG, but whose model could not be easily identified as a result of the impact and degree of wreckage.
An eyewitnesses account attributed the unfortunate incident to over speeding and carelessness exhibited by the drivers of both vehicles.
According to the eyewitness; “It was a head-on collision as a result of over-speeding by both vehicles and the terrible sound of the crash was heard across the sleepy Tashan Danzago community.”
One of our visibly shaken sources further explained thus; “This Golf car (pointing to the wreckage) with the Kano state registration plate number was coming from Kano while the other vehicle was reportedly coming from Niger State and they both ran into each other head-on.”
Meanwhile, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) had successfully evacuated the survivors who sustained various degrees of injury to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention as at the time of filling this report.
