FCT Police Parade Alleged Killers Of Army General In Abuja

The Nigeria Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Monday, June 24, 2024 paraded the armed robbers that killed Brigadier-General Uwem Udukwere (rtd) in Abuja last Saturday.

The arrested robbers had invaded the private residence of the Late General Udukwere situated at Sunshine Estate, in the wee hours of Saturday and killed him.

While parading the suspects at the Command headquarters, the Commissioner of Police in-charge of the FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, said that two of the armed robbers presently at large escaped with the Late General Udukwere’s pistol.

CP Igweh gave the names of the armed robbery suspects to include; Ibrahim Rabiu, Mohammed Nuhu, Aliyu Abdullahi and Nafiu Jamil, who are all residents of Apo, a satellite town in Abuja.

Igweh explained that the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence gathered by operatives of the FCT police command from Utako Division led by CSP Victor Godfrey, who trailed the suspects to their hideout.

The Commissioner of Police said the armed robbery suspects, confessed to committing the crime, adding that they stabbed the late General Udukwere with knife when he tried to resist them from dispossessing him of his pistol.

CP Igweh said that the knife allegedly used by the armed robbery suspects in committing crime was recovered, adding that the late Army General’s phone was also recovered from the suspects.

The police boss in the FCT assured that personnel of the command are making frantic efforts to arrest the two other fleeing robbers and to also recover the late General’s pistol from them.

Igweh said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation into the matter.
