FG Declares April 18, 21 Public Holidays For Easter

To mark this year’s annual Christian celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Good Friday and Easter Monday, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays respectively,

Interior Minister, Dr Tunji-Ojo

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on Tuesday on behalf of the Federal Government while extending heartfelt congratulations to Christians across the country on “this joyous occasion” .

This declaration was conveyed in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.

According to the statement, the Minister also urged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.

Additionally, Dr Tunji-Ojo reassured citizens of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to foster national growth and socio-economic development.

Encouraging Nigerians to extend love and goodwill to their neighbours through acts of kindness and generosity, the statement said; “The Minister wished all Christians a blissful Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians”.
