In what appeared a deliberate and provocative show of naked power in the political imbroglio in Rivers State, the appointed Sole Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rted), has summoned Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt unfailingly on Friday.

This was contained in a special announcement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, who stated that the inquiry on Fubara and his deputy will allow the governor to provide a clear and detailed explanation as to why he believes he should be reinstated to office.

The statement also stated that Fubara is expected to present a comprehensive documentation and records related to all the appointments he made while in office, including the rationale and procedures that guided those decisions.

Ibas in the statement said that the summon is part of an official inquiry into appointments made during the Fubara administration over the past two years.

The Sole Administrator therefore directed Fubara and his deputy to report at the Conference Room of the Rivers State Government House on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The Administrator stressed that attendance is mandatory, adding that the step forms part of a broader effort to restore transparency, accountability, and lasting peace in the governance of Rivers State.

Ibas specifically said that the inquiry will provide a crucial platform for Governor Fubara to articulate and justify why he believes he should be reinstated to his office.
