Firm To Partner KNSG For Construction Of 3000 Capacity Motor Park
BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – An Abuja based construction firm, ‘Canonic Associates Limited’ announced that it is going into partnership with the Kano State Government for the construction of a 3000 capacity mega motor park in Kano State.

The mega motor park which is to cost about N14 billion is designed to mop up over 1,200 motor parks in Kano metropolises and to also create a conducive environment for businesses as well as provide 14,000 jobs for the teeming youths in the transport sector.
The Kano State Government is to provide the land for the mega motor terminal which is also designed and situated to reduce traffic congestion and accidents in the ancient city and help boost the projection of the new model Kano city.
Managing Director of the company, Mr. Shehu Tukur told our correspondent that Canonic Associates Limited will provide the funds while the Kano State Government will appoint the contractors, adding that the recovery of the cost of the project would be worked out between the State government and his company.
Tukur said that the terminal will have facilities like cargo area, banks, petrol stations, ware houses, lockup shops, drivers lounge and motels among others.
According to him; “We will provide the funds, supervise the projects and enter an agreement with the Kano State Government on how to get our funds back.
“Presently, we have three of such in Nigeria namely Lagos, Kogi, and Nasarawa States coming up but that of Kano is bigger and well situated around the Kano-Zaria road fly over to be able to access Northwest, Northeast and other parts of the country from that direction”.
“We have started discussions with the Kano state Government. We have already sent a proposal to the State through its Ministry of Housing and Transport”.
Tukur said that as soon as the Kano State Government agrees to the idea, the company will commence the project in earnest to be completed within a stipulated time.
