The Police Command in Niger State have reported eight persons dead following a heavy downpour in Rafin-Gora village in Kontagora Local Government Area of the State.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Dibal Yakadi said in Minna on Monday that two bodies of the victims had so far been recovered.
He said the deceased were washed away by flood from the heavy rain which occurred on Monday evening, adding that the search and rescue operations were ongoing to recover the remaining missing bodies. – NAN
