BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Dare devil gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of today (Wednesday) abducted the nephew to former Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the private residence of Maku in Gudi town, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State during which they abducted Salisu Usman, the nephew to Maku, who was in the house.
The abducted Salisu Usman, who is an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, was kidnapped along with his wife.
An witness, who crave for anonymity told Forefront News that they the dare devil gunmen fired many shots and killed one person to scare the youth who had wanted to resist their attack.
The witness said that the house which is near the Railway crossing was besieged by the armed men at about 9:00pm on Tuesday night.
It was not exactly clear if their target was the former minister.
The witness further said; “The young guy (Salisu Usman) forcefully abducted victim is a nephew of the former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku.
“They gained access into the house and kidnapped an officer of Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS) officer Salisu Usman and his wife.
Attempt by our correspondent to confirm the incident from the spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel did not yield result as he did respond to calls as at the time of filing this report.
