The growing list of aspirants for the 2023 presidential race registered another big name on Friday as the former Speaker Dimeji Bankole picked the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Interestingly, it was the former Governor of Zamfara State, Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi that led the delegation to purchase N100 million forms on behalf of the aspirant, with insiders hinting that the Ogun State-born politician join the contest after a nationwide consultation with the ruling party stakeholders.
In 2019, Bankole was the Ogun State governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP). However, he dumped the party and officially registered as an APC member in March 2021.
