BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (retd), who gained freedom after spending four years in detention, on Tuesday night finally reunited with members of his family.
Dasuki had been in the custody of the State Security Services (SSS).
Dasuki left the premises of the secret police at about 9.00pm and was received by members of his family and well-wishers at his Asokoro residence at about 9.30pm.
The former NSA was first arrested on December 1, 2015 by SSS but arraigned in Court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
However, after perfecting his bail conditions granted him by the court, he was released on December 29, 2015 and immediately re-arrested by the Operatives of SSS and had remained in the SSS custody since then in violation of series of court orders issued for his release.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, had earlier on Tuesday directed the SSS to comply with the court order granting bail to Dasuki and the convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore.
