Fulani Kidnappers Gangs Fight Dirty, Abducts Pregnant Woman Of Rival Group

BY AMOS DUN IA, ABUJA – In what looks like “dog eats dog”, one of the kidnapping groups in the North-west geo-political zone that has become a kidnapping den, has abducted the wife of one of the opposing groups in one of their hideouts.

The development has given kidnapping war a new colouration and dimension that is sending security experts and analysts to go back to the drawing board to have a better understanding of the complexities involved in the dangerous crime.

Forefront News gathered that a fierce dispute broke out between the two rival gangs of the jungle that led to the kidnapping of an eight-month pregnant-woman, believed to be the wife to a leader of a rival gang.

In a telephone conversation clip obtained by PRNigeria, the gang leader, whose pregnant woman was abducted, has offered to pay a ransom of N100, 000 for his spouse to be released but it was turned down as being far from the needed figure.

In the telephone conversation clip, the two gang leaders were heard speaking in both Hausa and Fulfulde to each other.

In the recorded telephone conversation, the abductors of the pregnant woman totally rejected the N100,000 ransom, saying the amount was too meagre and will not even be enough for cigarette-smoking.

Part of the translated version states; “If you have N100, 000 presently, would you have even think of abducting a pregnant woman?” the gang leader whose wife has been kidnapped was heard telling his rival.

And in a counter move, the gang leader, whose wife was abducted quickly moved and kidnapped a member of the gang that abducted his wife. The new victim was fast in cooperating by giving out the phone number of the leader of the rival group which opened the channel for negotiation.

The new victim is also heard pleading with his gang leader to release the wife of his kidnapper to enable him regain freedom also.

The gang whose leader’s wife was abducted has also threatened to burn down the settlement, rustle the cattle and kill the women, children and aged relations of other group if the wife is not released within the next 24 hours.
