…Alleged, he failed to pay statutory party dues

The new executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State, on Sunday announced the indefinite suspension of the National Chairman of the Party, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

Last week, the Ward Legal Adviser, Malam Haladu Gwanjo, led a faction of the APC Executives in Ganduje Ward and announced the suspension of the former governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the Party.

Gwanjo while announcing the suspension, said that Dr Umar Ganduje was involved in alleged corruption and other vices, adding that the decision was taken by nine out of the 11 members of the executive in Ganduje ward.

But, in what looks like a continuous bombardment of the embattled National Chairman of the APC, another group, which claimed to be the legitimate Executive Committee of the Party in Ganduje Ward, on Sunday, April 21, 2024 announced the suspension of Dr Umar Ganduje.

Secretary of the new APC Ward Executives, Malam Ja’afar Ganduje told journalists that the entire 11 member executive committee of the Party had no choice than to suspend the APC National chairman because of his alleged anti-party activities and refusal to pay statutory Party dues.

Ja’afar said that Dr Umar Ganduje was involved in anti-party activities during the last general election which led to the factionalisation of the party at the ward level, stressing that the action of Dr Umar Ganduje brought the Party to disrepute.

In the words of Ja’afar; “We are the authentic executives of Ganduje ward, have passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a new suspension on Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for series of reasons.

“First, we suspended Dr. Ganduje’s membership for creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level.

“Another major reason why the authentic executives resolved to suspend Umar Ganduje is the issue of anti-party activities he generated during the 2023 elections which resulted to the Party’s failure in the state,” he said.
