Gombe Gov Yahaya Loses 2 Uncles In 24 Hours
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, GOMBE – Tragedy has struck the first family of Gombe State as Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya lost two of his uncles within a spate of 24 hours.
The deceased are Alhaji Shehu Umar, who died on Tuesday, December 15 and Alhaji Ahmadu (Ganjar) Umar who earlier passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020.
Late Alhaji Shehu, age 69, was until his death, a board member with the State’s Teaching Service Commission (TSC) while Alhaji Ahmadu (Ganjar) was a Gombe-based businessman.
Governor Yahaya was accompanied by most of his political appointees to attend the funeral prayers organised for both relatives at the Bello Doma Mosque on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
Also, the Speaker, Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Luggerewo led members of the House to the prayers while Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi led the State Executive Council (SEC) members, including the Chef of Staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari to the funeral prayers and subsequently paid condolences to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his family.
Meanwhile, the Gombe State Government, has through the SSG, condoled with Governor Inuwa and the entire members of his family over the losses, praying Almighty Allah to reward their good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
A statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Governor said the State Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Mr NIitte Amangal also led his exco members and some local government party officials on a condolence visit to Governor Yahaya at Gombe Government House.
