Governor Hyacinth Alia has assured of his firm resolve to to ensure the safety of the people of Benue State and the protection of their lands.
Governor Alia, who stated this in Otukpo on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, when he visited to commiserate with the people, following recent attacks by suspected armed herders at Akpachi and Otukpo-Nobi communities, vowed that he will not rest, but continue work assiduously until terrorists are flushed out of the state.
He however, charged the people to always remain vigilant and identify suspicious movements and alert the relevant authorities to nip in the bud of potential attacks.
Alia stated that he has done so much in providing the needed logistics, motivation as well as complemented the strength of the security forces.
The Governor also visited the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo where victims of the attacks who sustained various degrees of injuries are undergoing treatment.
Alia directed comprehensive treatment at the instance of the state government and assured that his administration remains solidly with the people.
At the Ochi’Idoma palace, Governor Alia, who sympathised with the paramount ruler, His Royal Majesty Agaba’Idu Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, said it is his obligation to protect all lives in the state
According to Alia; “I am assuring that we shall never rest on our oars until peace fully return to our communities”.
