Gov. Alia Supports FGGC’s School Feeding With Bags Of Rice, Cows

BY NGOZI NWANKWO – As part of his efforts aimed at supplementing the School’s feeding program, and enhanced students nourishment, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State, has donated 50 bags of 50kg rice and eight cows to the Federal Government Girls’ College, Gboko.

Advocating support for girl child education and gender inclusiveness, Governor Alia said the food items were for the enhancement of the students’ nutrients and well-being.

This was contained in a statement by the Director Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs.Folasade Boriowo in Abuja on Wednesday in which she said that the gesture of the governor was significant in supporting girl child Education and gender inclusiveness.

The statement said; “During an unofficial visit to the School on his way to an official engagement in Vandeikya, Governor Alia expressed his admiration for the Students, referring to them as future leaders and his beautiful daughters”.

It quoted the governor as commending the School management for their dedication to maintaining a conducive learning environment and ensuring the students’ physical and academic welfare.

Governor Alia emphasized the importance of proper nutrition in enabling students to concentrate on their studies, thereby helping them achieve their best potential.

As a staunch advocate of girl child education, Governor Alia urged the students to excel in their studies and make their parents proud, saying that their academic achievements would secure their future success and leadership roles.

In her reactions, Mrs. Idoreyin Omaselem Ejohuo, the Director/Principal of the School, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s visit, which she described as a historic occasion for the Institution and then pledged the School’s continued commitment to excellence in education as one of the leading Girls’ Colleges in the North Central of Nigeria.

The Modesty House Captain, Anthonia Tukuna, a Student of SS 3 C, extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Students, praying for the Governor’s continued wisdom and strength in leading the State effectively.
