Gov Bala, Sen Abdul Ningi On Good Terms – Group Convener
- Backs lawmaker for 2027 guber race

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Contrary to reports in certain quarters, the relationship between Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ahmed Ningi is very cordial and smooth.
The Chairman and Convener of a political pressure group; “Is Good to be Good,” Alhaji Ibrahim Lawi made the declaration at a stakeholders Consultative meeting held in Bauchi.
Lawi, who maintained that both politicians have been together for a long time as friends and family, dismissed as mere rumours the existence of any form of rift between them.
He said the two leaders are united and as partners for many years, their relationship remains strong and robust, cautioning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership to avoid past mistakes and ensure a level playing ground in the upcoming party primaries.
The Group Convener challenged Gov Mohammed to prioritize fairness and equity, by allowing a popular candidate to emerge and secure the Party’s continued dominance beyond 2027.
He said the governor should not to allow enemies of the State to cause political tension that may spell doom for the PDP in 2027, adding; “only fairness and equity” will help the party in the build-up to its primaries and the 2027 general elections.
Praising Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi’s loyalty and dedication to the PDP, Lawi said having “duly paid his dues”, the Lawmaker should be supported and given the chance to lead come 2027.
He particularly called on the PDP leadership in Bauchi State to ensure a level playing field in the build up to the party primaries so that a popular candidate will emerge to enable the party remain in power beyond the 2027.
According to him, “Abdul Ahmed Ningi has remained faithful and loyal to the PDP since its formation, he has duly paid his dues to the party, therefore, 2027 should be his pay back year, the PDP in Bauchi State should honour him with the gubernatorial ticket to succeed Bala Mohammed.”
Also using warning the people of Bauchi State, particularly PDP members not to be deceived into playing money politics in 2027, Lawi said it is important to choose the best material for Governor in order to continue with the good things currently happening across the State.
Further drumming up support for Sen Ningi’s gubernatorial aspirations come 2027, the Group stressed that the Lawmaker is most fit to succeed Governor Bala
Meanwhile, the comprising retired civil servants in Bauchi State, on Sunday held a public Consultative meeting for stakeholders from the Bauchi South Senatorial District where all the speakers extolled the good virtues of Senator Ningi.
Unanimously, they all urged Governor Bala Mohammed to support Ningi’s aspirations, stressing that the Lawmaker was largely instrumental to his emergence as Governor in 2019 and re-election in 2023 having withdrawn his gubernatorial ambition following series of consultations.
The various speakers agreed that Governor Bala is currently doing his best to evenly develop the State in terms of infrastructures and he needs someone like Ningi to succeed him and continue with the good works in 2027.
They further noted that Senator Ningi is most qualified to succeed the governor come 2027, assuring that they will do everything possible to ensure he declares interest to run for the State Government House.
