Gov Bala Vows To Fish Out, Punish Killers Of 11-Year-Old Almajiri
BY AKANJI ALOWOLODU, BAUCHI – Governor Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir of Bauchi State has vowed to fish out and punish some unidentified persons suspected to be ritualists for their gruesome killing of 11-year-old Almajiri, Yunusa.
The Governor, who made the promise on Thursday during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, said his administration will not condone any form of crime and criminality in the State.
He described the incident as sad and unfortunate, pledging that the State government would collaborate with security agencies in fishing out and punishing the culprits to serve as a deterrent to criminals who are always desirous to inflict pain on innocent people.
Speaking through the State Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Umar Babayo Kesa, the governor urged all communities in the State to be vigilant and always ready to alert security agencies on any suspicious movement for prompt action.
For Governor Bala, the State government would not take it kindly with anybody or persons found associated with the victim’s death, even as he directed the security agencies to track down and arrest all those culpable in carrying out the dastardly act.
The governor condoled the deceased’s families and prayed that Allah grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In his remarks, Chairman of Traditional Quranic School, Bauchi State, Alaramma Zakariyau Dauduwo expressed dismay over the killing of the innocent quranic pupil and extended his condolences to the victim’s family, adding that they will continue praying to Allah to expose whoever has a hand in the killing of Yunusa.
The Qur’anic Teacher of the pupils, Alaramma Muhammadu Auwalu expressed thanked the state government for its concern, saying the biological father of the deceased has taken the incident as an act of Destiny.
He however said the late boy’s family will not stop government and security agencies from doing all within their powers to arrest and bring to book those that commit the dastardly act.
Last Saturday, at the Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi Metropolis, some unknown persons reportedly lured two Quranic School pupils to a corner pledging to give them food but most unfortunately smashed one of the boy’s head with a stone, crushing his skull in the process.
After smashing their victim’s skull, the assailants were said to have removed his brain but the other pupil escaped narrowly from them with bloodstains all over his body to call their teacher who rushed to the scene only to find Yunusa already dead in a pool of his blood.
