Gov. Fayemi Joins 2023 Presidential Race

Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemei on Wednesday increased the figure of presidential aspirants jostling for the ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he formally threw his hat into the ring.

Governor Fayemi while declaring at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Wednesday in Abuja, in the company of his wife, Erelu Bisi Feyemi, said he would enthrone good governance, national unity and cohesion.
The presidential primary of the APC barring unforeseen circumstances, has been scheduled to hold on May 30, 31 and June 1, 2022

Present at the declaration were the APC governorship candidate for Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, members of the State House of Assembly, traditional rulers and party faithful and supporters.
Having formally declared for the presidential ticket on the platform of the ruling APC, Fayemi would be expected to slug it out against other aspirants that include, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha; Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige; Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River among others.
