Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved the appointment of Mr Bature Sunday Likoro as the new Agwom Kamuru
This appointment follows the passage to glory on December 18, 2024 of the immediate past occupant of that traditional stool, His Highness Yohanna Sidi Kukah
According to a statement on Tuesday by Hon Sadiq Mamman Lagos, the Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Mr Likoro is appointed as a third (3rd) Class Chief.
The statement further disclosed that the new Agwon Kamuru was born on 15th August 1958 and holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from the Kaduna Polytechnic.
The Commissioner noted that Mr Likoro wields a lot of influence in his locality, due to his records of service and community development activities, where he has been interacting with several stakeholders.
The statement said though the appointment is with immediate effect, “all other arrangements for the installation ceremony and presentation of Staff of Office would be announced in due course.’”
Hon Mamman said Governor Uba Sani has already congratulated the new Agwom Kamuru ‘’for a well deserved appointment and wishes him success and God’s guidance’’ while carrying out his duties on the throne.
Kamuru Ikulu is located in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area in southern Kaduna and serves as the headquarters of the Akulu chiefdom.
