Governor Fintiri Signs Adamawa 2021 N140bn Budget Into Law
BY AUSTIN AJAYI, YOLA – Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has made history as he signed the 2021 budget of N140.034 billion into law with capital expenditure higher than recurrent expenditure.
The budget tagged; “Budget of Stability” Governor Fintiri noted that it is first time the State’s capital expenditure surpassed the recurrent expenditure.
The Governor said in order to enhance the lot of the youth and women, he has earmarked a whooping sum of N16 billion for them in the budget.
Fintiri thanked the members of the State House of Assembly for their immense support and patriotism at ensuring that the budget was scrutinized and passed on record time.
He said; “We enjoyed the privileged support of the House of Assembly members who placed the interest of the state first before any other interest”.
The governor said the budget will ensure value addition and more infrastructural development in the state and promised to address the decline wrought on the economy by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to impact the lives of all and sundry.
Fintiri noted that without concrete dividends, democracy will cease to have meaning to the people and therefore promised to take development to every nook and cranny of the state in his bid to ensure that democracy dividends trickle down to all parts of the state.
The State House of Assembly after scrutiny and due diligence, passed the Adamawa State 2021 budget on Thursday.
