Governor Sule Lacks Courage To Administer Nasarawa State – Former Attorney General-Lagi
BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – Former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Nasarawa state, Barrister Innocent Lagi has said that the current governor of the state, Abdullahi Sule lacks the courage to administer the state.
Lagi specifically told Forefront News that Governor Sule lacks the required quality to govern the state and achieve results.
He noted that it is clear that Sule is not in any way ready for governance as he was forced on the people of the state by former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura.
In the words of Lagi; “He also doesn’t have the quality that would say he is a reformer that want to courageously get any particular result. So, he is neither here nor there”.
“The last five months of Governor Sule’s administration is a waste as nothing has been achieved. The administration has no clear cut agenda.
“Any time you discuss this, you are told is too early. I will say it clearly that anybody who has sought to be governor in three previous elections should assumed to have a development plan.”
Lagi further said that the Nasarawa state governor has a choice to either succeed or fail base on
his agenda on how to develop and move the state forward.
According to Lagi; “Governor Sule has the power to succeed or fail if he makes the right decision. He is a governor. If he makes the right decisions, history will remember him, but if he makes the wrong decisions, history will also record him.
“I don’t think he has a clear cut agenda on how to go forward. If you have four years, and in every four years, you waste five months, then you variably have only two years.”
Lagi added that the administration of Governor Sule will crash because it started on a wrong pedestal which has no value to the state and its citizens.
He noted that the current appointments of members of the state cabinet did not reflect the true wishes of the people of the state.
He further said; “My assessment is that the cabinet is not the one that will advance his personality and politics. Unfortunately, whether we wants to accept it
or not, he was not elected on his own right but because Al-makura wanted him elected. So, I don’t think his cabinet reflects the kind of politics he wants to do.”
