The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, January 12, 2026, said that Governors on the platform of opposition political parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), are doing as a result of their vulnerabilities and not because of the interest of Nigerians.
Mr Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the ADC however, said that on the other hand, the major strength of the ADC is the fact that it is standing with Nigerians.
Abdullahi, who stated these when he featured on African Independent Television (AIT) programme, pointedly said that the crisis in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), were engineered by the ruling APC.
While criticising the ruling APC for the hardship it has imposed on Nigerians, Abdullahi stressed that the ADC cannot wait to takeover the leadership of the country in order to commence giving the country good governance beyond just taking over power.
Abdullahi said that the ADC is the only available alternative for the opposition willing to wrestle power from the oppressive APC with a view to reposition the country.
He assured that the ADC is open to all comers, adding however that it is a party with rules which everyone applying to join irrespective of status in the society must abide with.
The spokesperson of the ADC lamented that since 1999, the leadership bar in Nigeria has been declining progressively unchecked and assured that the ADC will prioritize strategy over zoning in determining the Presidential candidate of the party.
Abdullahi applauded the moral fortitude of former President of the Senate, David Mark as the strength upon which the party’s ship has sailed strongly so far.
