Group Launches Kogites Coalition For Ododo 2023

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – A group known as the Coalition of Kogites in Diaspora For Ododo 2023 was recently inaugurated in Kaduna, with the sole purpose of working for the victory of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, in the Kogi governorship poll slated for November 2023.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Alhaji Usman Isa Ogirima, the group comprises Kogites residing outside of the State and Nigeria.

“We intend to inaugurate chapters in all the 36 states of the Federation, including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. We currently have a UK chapter now,” Ogirima added.

According to the statement, “The purpose of the group is to garner support for the APC governorship candidate in the November 2023 elections, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.  A similar platform was on ground in 2019 that helped to secure the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) for a second term in office”.

The statement appealed to all members to work in harmony and mobilise Kogites both in the state and outside the state, including Kogi indigenes residing outside the country, towards ensuring the electoral triumph of Ododo in November 2023.

“The aim of the group”, the chairman added, “s not limited to victory at the governorship poll only, but also to generate a blueprint expected to be realised in our State”.

Other executives of the Coalition include Hajia Zainab Abdulsalam (National Vice Chairman);  Comrade Kekere S. O. Esq (National Secretary General);  Comrade Ozomata Ismail Landmark (National Assistant Secretary General);  Engr. (Dr) Usman Nda Muhammed (National Treasurer) and Abdul Fartai Usman (Foreign Coordinator).

Other officials of the coalition are Habibat Suleiman (National Financial Secretary); Hadi Jafar (National Public Relations Officer); Dr Sarah Likita Onoja (Director, Media and Publicity);Timothy Olaoluwa Osho (National Organising Secretary); Engr. Ohieku Abdulsalam Muhammed  (Chief Advicer) and Prof A. O. Abere (Patron).

The group is to commence inauguration of other chapters to commence mobilisation of its members to realise its objectives of ensuring victory for the APC governorship candidate for the November 2023 poll.
