Gunmen Kill Policeman, Attack Station In Ebonyi

The disturbing incidents of losing personnel by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) continued early on Thursday morning when unknown gunmen invaded Obiozara police station in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

In the attack, the gunmen killed a policeman and razed office of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) as well as the administrative block within the station.

According to eyewitness’ account, the gunmen invaded the station in large numbers  around 3am, and in the process burnt the building burnt currently used by police operatives as their temporary office space.

Inside sources hinted that the Force have been using the makeshift arrangement because the main station within the Local government area is still not in good condition after it was torched by protesters during last year’s #EndSARS campaign

Though Police spokesperson, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident, she however did not give further information on the state of affairs.

But a police insider hinted that investigations are already ongoing, adding that given the large numbers of the attackers, it was difficult for the Police to have stopped the invasion.
