The Nigeria Police on Monday arraigned the abductor and killer of five-year old Hanifa Abubakar, who was until her brutal murder, her teacher, Abdulmalik Tanko and two others before a Chief Magistrate Court at Gidan Murtala, Kano Metropolis.

The trio were charged before Chief Magistrate Mahmud Jibir with criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, concealing, keeping in conferment a kidnapped person and culpable homicide contrary to section 97, 274, 277 and 221 of the penal code.

Five year old Hanifa Abubakar was abducted on December 4, 2021 on her way back from Islamiyya by her teacher-Abdulmalik, who later killed her after demanding and collecting N6m ransom.

The Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Musa Lawan, urged the court to grant the prosecution seven days to enable Counsels to properly prepare the charge file and therefore requested that the accused persons should be remanded in correctional centre.

After the charges were read to the accused persons, they were later taken and remanded at the Correctional Centre and the matter adjourned to February 2, 2022.
