Hisbah Drags Islamic School Teacher For Impregnating Student, Defiling Others

• Board invites suspect over allegations
• Cleric tasks parents on teacher/student relationship 

The Kano State Hisbah Board has invited an Islamic school teacher in the State (name withheld) over complaints about his alleged sexual escapades and assaults on the students.

Reports indicated that the suspect currently teaches in a school owned by a late renowned cleric and located in the metropolitan area of the Kano city state.

It was further gathered that the teacher has been peddling his influence around to commit the alleged atrocities against the students.

The Hisbah Board State disclosed that the teacher, who is one of the late cleric’s sons, had earlier put a student in the family way and was forced to marry her.

According to the Hisbah Board’s Commandant, Sheikh Harun Ibn-Sina, the man regrettably refused to stop his unholy activities, but continued deceiving the innocent students in the name of love while defiling many of them in the process.

The Hisbah Commandant confirmed to Freedom Radio in Kano that investigations so far revealed the teacher allegedly connived with his wife, whom he impregnated before marrying, thereby using their matrimonial home for the immoral acts.

The Board also said after inviting the teacher for questioning, he volunteered information that confirmed the allegations against him, adding that further investigations had commenced into the matter.

However, Sheikh Ibn-Sina assured that the Board would get to the root of the case and thereafter make public its findings as well as whatever action that would be taken against the suspect.

In another development, an Islamic cleric in Kano, Mallam Sulaiman Abubakar Sulaiman, has advised that parents should guard against allowing their children and wards to stay longer in school after the official closing hours.

Mallam Sulaiman said it was also important for parents and guardians to closely monitor their wards while keeping an eye on existing relationships between them and their teachers.

Similarly, the cleric urged students to stay away from any teacher that professes to be in love with them and immediately report him to their parents and the school authorities.

“This is the greatest betrayal; for a teacher to impregnate his students, not only in Islamic schools, even if it is in Western education schools.

“There is high respect and trust between students and their teachers, but these incidents have been happening these days”, he said.
