A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Kobis Ari Thimnu, representing Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, has finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon Kobis Thimnu in a letter announcing his exit from the PDP cited internal crisis, saying that his decision was one that was not borne out of impulse, but introspection.

He however, did not state his next political party he is moving to, but explained that his future political party would be predicated on the outcome of a wide consultation with members of his constituency.

The resignation of the lawmaker, who was Secretary to the Adamawa State Government from the PDP has sparked speculation about his future plans.

With measured words and reflective restraint, Hon Kobis Ari Thimnu said the step he has so far taken followed “careful reflection and wide consultations” with political associates, family and friends suggesting a moment of inward reckoning before outward action.

In a prose marked by calm conviction, Hon Thimnu described his resignation as a necessary alignment with his personal beliefs and future aspirations.

The resignation letter read less like a rupture, but more like a reverent farewell as he paid glowing tribute to the leadership of the PDP and its faithful members.

He also acknowledged years of trust, opportunity and support; and the privilege of serving as a federal legislator under the party’s banner, representing Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency.

Thimnu noted that the experience gave him exposure, enduring relationships and a political education he will always appreciate.

Unlike others, Hon Thimnu did not express bitterness in his tone just as there was no scorched earth in his syntax, but expression of gratitude which flowed generously as he closed with a courteous request that his resignation be accepted with highest regard.

While Hon. Kobis Ari Thimnu exits the PDP without glamor, but composure, he has however left a party chapter carefully closed and opening a new political page yet to be written.
