Hoodlums Attack Benue Assembly Member-elect, Set Vehicle Ablaze

Some unidentified hoodlums on Thursday night attacked a House of Assembly member-elect for the Gboko-West state constituency, in Benue State, Mr Aondona Dajoh in the Gboko Local Government Area of the State.

Reports indicated that an unspecified number of hoodlums ambushed the newly elected Assembly member when he was driving home after visiting some political associates in his constituency.

According to a competent source, the member-elect was attacked at the popular Gyado Junction in Gboko on Thursday evening and though he was able to escape unhurt, his vehicle was burnt to ashes,

The source further said; “The attackers came in their numbers and descended on him but he abandoned his car and ran for his life.”

Meanwhile, the State Police Command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident, said, in a text message; “Attack on Hon. Aondona Dajoh is confirmed. Though he escaped unhurt, his vehicle was burnt down. Investigation into the case is ongoing please.”
