Mother luck ran out on two deadly kidnappers that abducted Dr. Abu Babatunde and his late brother in Auchi, Edo State, as they went to the hospital where their victim works for medical attention for their daughter.
The suspected kidnappers on arrival at the hospital with their sick baby were attended to by the same medical doctor they had abducted in January and spent weeks before he was released after payment of about N100 million ransom.
Forefront News gathered that the suspected Kidnappers were quickly identified by Dr Babatunde, who remained calm on recognising them, attended to their sick baby professionally before he quietly raised alarm which led to their immediate arrest.
Dr Babatunde and his younger brother, also a medical doctor who was killed by the kidnappers were kidnapped on City Pride Road in the Igbira Camp area of Auchi on January 1, 2026.
The kidnappers made a demand of N200 million ransom and during the process of negotiation, the younger brother was killed in captivity.
Dr. Babatunde regained freedom after payment of hefty money as ransom having spent 13 days in the kidnappers’ den.
Police authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the development and or arrest of the suspects.
