Tired of the harassment, kidnap and various evil activities of bandits, residents of Bimasa town in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State took the bull by the horn and frontally confronted armed bandits terrorising them over the years.
The bravely recorded the successful rescue of community members that were abducted just as they also neutralized some of the bandits.
Close sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the residents boldly pursued the bandits into their hideouts in the forest and directly engaged the terrorists in a daring operation that resulted in the death of several criminal bandits.
It was further gathered that in what appeared a rare demonstration of extraordinary courage, the community foot soldiers successfully rescued those who were earlier taken hostage during a raid of the community by the bandits.
As a demonstration of their bravely and triumph, the residents brought the leg of one of the bandits back to the town as a trophy.
While commending the residents for their bold move and resolve to confront the bandits that have terrorise them over the years, leaders of the community called on the authorities to reinforce the town with adequate security to prevent a possible reprisal attack by the bandits.
