BY ALIJO SYLVESTER, ABUJA – Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari believes the world is in need of more charitable actors to help tackle humanitarian issues and crises globally.

Mrs Buhari stated this when she hosted members of ‘Our Collective Futures’ at the State House on Thursday and commended their activities aimed at the less privileged of society.

She however charged the group to do more, maintaining that more actors are needed to participate in humanitarian activities.

Represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the President Dr Hajo Sani, Mrs Buhari said it is important to have many successful professionals belonging to groups that would always remember the underprivileged and support them from time to time.

“That is why Future Assured will not rest on its oars in helping those that are in need;” and that “Future Assured will continue to advocate for the health and well-being of women and children.”

Speaking earlier, leader of the group and President of Klytec Inc, Dr Leong Ying, said they were in Nigeria to discuss business opportunities with relevant national and private groups, but conscious of Mrs Buhari’s humanitarian activities through the Future Assured Programme, decided to visit her and establish collaboration in different areas of interest.

Dr Ying said members of his group span across many professions and disciplines and are successful in their various fields of endeavor.

He explained that having reached their peak professionally, the members are giving back to society their goodwill, stressing that they identify with Mrs Buhari’s charitable efforts and are ready to support her in this regard.

Also speaking, Dr Abiodun Asekun, a member of the group and Chief Executive of Cada Aero, a US based aeronautics firm, said there are many successful Nigerians in the group who are willing to bring their resources to provide humanitarian support to Nigeria, especially through reputable organizations like Future Assured.
