I’ll Present 100 Witnesses To Testify Against Tinubu – Atiku Tells PEPT
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the Party have declared that no fewer than 100 witnesses will appear and testify for them in their petition challenging the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).
This was announced by their lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche SAN, on Saturday in Abuja at the resumption of proceedings before the court, saying that the anticipated witnesses will include those already listed before the court and those to be subpoenaed.
However, counsel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abubakar Mahmud SAN, said his client that conducted the disputed election plans to call only two witnesses to defend the results of the election.
On his part, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said he will be presenting 39 witnesses in addition to those being subpoenaed to defend his victory which is being challenged.
The APC which was jointly declared as winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election alongside Tinubu also announced its intention to call 25 witnesses in addition to those to be subpoenaed in order to establish its victory.
