BY AMAKA EMEKA, OWERRI – Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has said over 70 per cent of suspects arrested for the attacks and mayhem caused in the state are not of Igbo extraction.

He therefore vowed that his administration would crush anybody that further attempts to cause mayhem or attack Imo people again, stressing that his government cannot surrender to blackmailers, hoodlums, and perpetrators of violence.

Governor Uzodinma, who stated these on Monday, also announced that no fewer than 400 people suspected to have participated in attacks and caused mayhem in Imo State have been arrested and charged to court.

Uzodinma in a statement in Owerri by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, therefore advised those planning to visit the state with any form of violence to have a rethink, stressing that the government is more than ever ready and prepared to keep Imo safe and secured.

The governor called on the people of the state to go about their businesses without fear of molestation or harassment, assuring that what happened in the past weeks will never repeat itself again.
