Imo: Supreme Court Adjourns Ihedioha’s Review Application Till March 2, 2020
BY GRACE ANYANWU, ABUJA – The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of the application for review of the judgment against former governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), till March 2, 2020.
The apex court had earlier scheduled to commence hearing of the review of its earlier which has come under severe criticisms by different stakeholders, on Tuesday, February 18, 20202.
Hon. Ihedioha and the PDP are praying the Supreme Court to, among others, reverse its judgment of January 14, which sacked Ihedioha and replaced him with Hope Uzodinma.
Lead Counsel to Ihedioha, Mr. Kanu Agabi, at the mention of the case on Tuesday, asked for time to enable his team respond appropriately to the application filed by the legal team of Governor Hope Uzodima.
The request was not objected to by Uzodima’s legal team.
In a brief ruling, the 7-man panel of the apex court, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, granted the request for additional time and adjourned the commencement of the hearing of the review till March 2, 2020.
